Every Friday during 1st lunch (10:15am-10:45am)  and 3rd lunch (11:15am-11;45am) in Mrs. Hart-Tompkins room #2611

OUR PLANS FOR THIS YEAR


  • Hold refugee simulation

  • Continue volunteering in our community at the Academy of World Languages after school programs for refugees
  • Organize more fundraisers and donation drives
  • Hold bake sales
  • Partner with RefugeeConnect of the Junior League of Cincinnati and with Heartfelt Tidbits

School Assembly
Invited two Bhutanese refugees to speak to Walnut Hills students in order to raise awareness.


Household Staples Donation Drive
Collected personal items such as toiletries and towels which we donated to 266 refugee families in Cincinnati.


Public Screening of "The Good Lie"
Teemed up with RefugeeConnect to raise awareness about the refugee crisis at a public screening of “The Good Lie”. This event doubled as a fundraiser for a refugee scholarship.


Weekly Volunteering

After school, students volunteered at a local elementary school to help refugee students with academics, athletics, art, and technology.

Walnut Hills High School STAR


On October 18th at in the Walnut Hills Library, we held a concert fundraiser featuring Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra musicians.The German Consul General stationed in Chicago was in attendance, and we raised OVER $25,000 for refugee scholarships. This scholarships will be given to local refugees seeking to continue their education past high school.
